What a Big Girl!

Well, since Maryella moved out of her crib and into her big girl bed, it seemed that maybe she was ready for her full-fledged big girl room. Again, this change was a bit premature. We were planning on doing all of this after Christmas, but it seems to be working out now.
Anyway, we took advantage of the extra help this weekend with Marmie and Granda to paint her new room and move some furniture around. We have 4 bedrooms - ours, Kaylin and Annlee's, Maryella's and one that has functioned as a playroom/guest room until now. Maryella moved into that room and her old room will eventually become the nursery. She picked yellow as the color for her room and Dora as the theme. I wanted to keep mainly a pink and yellow color scheme so that it could grow with her as she outgrew the Dora things. I think it all came together really well. It has turned out to be a really fun room and looks just perfect for our big little girl. Jeff found the Dora wall stickers and lamp at Walmart. We picked a yellow that wasn't too overpowering. And I got to do a little art work on the wall to add a girly touch. Maryella loves it. Here are a few pictures of how it all came together.

Sing to Me!

Marmie and Granda wanted to take Kaylin and Jeff out to eat for their birthdays and Kaylin's only request was to go somewhere where they would sing to her. She bugged us throughout the meal about when they would come. When the time actually came, I thought she would bolt out of the booth, but I think she enjoyed it. And what a sweet girl she is, she shared her special dessert with her sisters.

Let the celebrations begin...

Marmie and Granda came to visit this weekend and they celebrated Kaylin's birthday with her. Kaylin was so excited to have them pick her up from school and open a few gifts. Thank you to Marmie, Granda, Uncle Max, Aunt Trista, Aunt Linny, Unlce Chris and Ma-don!! Here are a few pictures from Friday, stay tuned for more throughout the weekend... The girls looked so pretty on Sunday, I had to take pictures. Plus, those pigtails on Maryella were just too cute!!

I knew it was coming...

Maryella climbed out of her crib yesterday. For a few minutes, I debated checking into getting a crib tent, but we were planning on moving her to a toddler bed after Christmas anyway, so I figured why not go ahead a few months early. For yesterday's nap and last night, she slept on a mattress on the floor. she cried for a LONG time at nap time, but not too bad at night. Both times, when she was done crying, she went to the mattress and went to sleep. Jeff put together the toddler bed last night and I got it in her room this morning. We had some Dora sheets for it, which thrilled Maryella to no end. So the bed is all ready for her nap this afternoon. Her are a few pictures of her trying it out this morning. (Can you tell that she loves Dora? She even wore that nightgown to take the girls to school yesterday morning!)

Our New Pool!

The girls love getting into a pool and it's such a great way to cool off. Their little plastic pool had seen better days though, so we went to see if we could find an end of summer sale or something. Walmart had all of their big pools like this clearanced out at 50% off, so we couldn't resist. It fits our family so much better than those little "baby" pools and the girls LOVE it! It's 16 feet in diameter and it's about 3 1/2 feet deep. We got it all set up on Saturday and the girls have played in it all weekend. We'll leave it up for a couple months and then take it down for winter. Although, Annlee is convinced that we should leave it up and let them go ice skating at Christmas. Haha
